Raise your hand if you want to break a habit? Now, raise your hand if it has been easy to break that habit? Did your hand go up at either question? Okay, grab a piece of paper and a pen to jot a few things down. Breaking a habit is not impossible to do; it begins with the desire to want to stop.
- Write down the habit you want to stop.
- Write down your challenge with stopping the habit.
-
Write down what the habit is costing you.
Once you have done this task it will place before you the weight and expense of this habit. You may find there are things you do out of routine but if you stopped them, it would cause you no harm. You may even find out you don’t like it.
We have all picked up learned behaviors and it would be immature of us to blame what we are doing on another. In the process of breaking the habit we should take accountability. While you may have learned the behavior, at some point you made it your own and people may have learned the behavior from you.
Lastly, write down one day this week you will refrain from this habit and what you will do instead of the habit.
Be inspired,
