Halt! What time have you taken out today to celebrate you? Question, when was the last time you were celebrated? I recall a work celebration for a coworker that came with a moment of pause during our busy day. Why after a decade does this work celebration stand out? The person responsible for purchasing the cake took a large slice before the presentation. The audacity to offer a cake to the birthday person after you were not only late but cut a huge slice out!
Celebrating you should not be an alternative after you were poorly celebrated or forgotten by others. Celebrating you should be the default response to any moment you find worth a cheer. You can set the standard of celebration, a dinner, movie night, or splurge! Whatever you opt, do not opt to ignore the need to be acknowledged. Create this healthy habit and document the results.
Back to the work celebration, when the lights shine on you be aware of those standing at the lightswitch. Be careful you're not the one waiting to flip the switch in the off direction.
