Back in high school I ran track and field for a bit. I recall the nervous feeling that took over me before I heard my name called to get on the track. Sometimes I would move slowly or hold my breath hoping they would stop calling my name. Well, it never worked, they waited for me to get ready and get on the field.
One of the greatest experiences during the time was the level of adrenaline I felt once I heard go. There was no quitting, pressing forward with precision was necessary to get to the finish line. It did not matter if I came in first place, I would have been ashamed if I would have quit. Once my name was called, it was my turn to not only get on the field, but to perform and produce a result.
This helped create a practice of pressing to produce results. I have no interest in wasting time. I hear my name called; I stand up and go. Quitting is not an option. As life presented trials and tribulations, I had to learn that even if I could not see the finish line to go or else miss what God wanted to do for me and through me. When I ran on the field, I listened for the voices I knew to cheer me on and shout my name. Today, I listen for God to call my name, let me know when it is time for me to move and how.
My press is different because when there is fear, I talk to GOD, He calms any storm that rages in me. His voice is the most valuable, powerful and authentic. His voice is full of all things that have breath.
