Oh to Be Young Again!

Oh to Be Young Again!

I recall being a child and life was not as stressful. As a kid I counted the days on my hand to see how long it would take before I would be an adult. The count took a while, or so it seemed because we process time differently as children. Looking back, I think about how my caregivers were responsible for my well being. The most I had to think about was any kids at school who irritated me, tests and who I wanted to be when I grew up.

Why am I speaking of this today? A few days ago I went on vacation with my family and I have to say things have changed significantly. It was more important for the kids to have fun. The adults mysteriously disappeared while I watched the kids and dog. While waiting I took a nap, I just wanted my coffee. Thinking about meals was stressful! I don’t think the kids know what sleep is, they had so much sugar during the day. Who's to blame?? I wanted to go back to the room multiple times for a nap.

What I learned on this trip was just how much my life is controlled by little people who call me Aunt and Mom-Mom! Oh, and the dog! Happy summer vacation!
