Perfect Peace: Where I Want To Be In The Time Of A Storm.

Perfect Peace: Where I Want To Be In The Time Of A Storm.

Over the weekend I encountered Perfect Peace through what in the past may have been a disruption to the functioning of my life. If I provided you with the 5 W’s, simply put, Church, God, Sunday, His Presence, A Storm and Heavenly Places. We don’t always see the storm approaching, or hear it, but having your gear to weather the storm makes a difference. My gear includes His never failing Word, trust in Him and an obedient spirit.

It started in the morning at the sound of my calendar alarm. I read the reminder that there were 13 minutes before my church service started. Quickly, I jumped up knowing there was no time to drive 40 minutes without traffic to service. Typically, I would’ve been frustrated and tuned in via streaming. Instead, I prepared myself for the next service, stopped to grab an iced coffee and headed out the door. I arrived an hour early for the next service but right on time for God’s plan.

While my experience at church was nothing short of basking in His presence, my day was not over. On my way to a function, I found myself hit from an angle that left me in pause. My car was struck and I have to say I was still in the presence of my God. How do I know? The peace that surpasses all understanding, I did not have the anxious feelings of what are typical of having your car thrust across an intersection. My help came in less than 5 minutes and before I could rise in the morning my situation was already working itself out.

His Peace allowed me rest in a blessed assurance and here I stand determined to allow His Word to rule over my mind, body and spirit.
