That moment when you just want to hide. You have no interest in interacting with the outside world. It seems better to stay in an environment where you feel safe. How often has safety been your choice when the second choice was uncomfortable?
Did you know there is safety in your growth? Think about a caterpillar when it comes out of its egg. The caterpillar comes out of its egg because it is ready to hatch. I personally find this process interesting. After hatching out of the egg, most caterpillars will eat the egg they were hatched from. Sounds yucky? What makes me not jump on the yuck wagon is that they are now eating what kept them safe to provide nutrients for the journey ahead. They recognize the value of the safety shelter and use it for a wonderful purpose, to be nourished for the future.
What would happen if you no longer allowed the safety of what you know to hold you and instead took the steps to climb out of the restrictions? What would you accomplish? How have the useful parts of your past served as nutrients for your future? Or even your current journey to get through the day?
A quick tip: Do not allow yourself to focus on the hurt of the past or other negative parts of your history. It is called your history for a reason. Do not allow what should be a story of triumph and victory be overshadowed by emotions. Your pain can contaminate the soil of the new soil intended to grow you beyond your expectations.
