Rejection is a significant emotion. Acknowledge your feelings are valid, but it's not the final chapter. Rejection can foster growth. If my rejections were bricks, I could build a multi-level building.
How has rejection manifested in your life? A missed promotion, denied loan approval, being overlooked by someone you admire? Not obtaining desired outcomes can be disappointing. Do you acknowledge the value of situations not unfolding as planned? I remember the impact of rejection in the workplace. Individuals were unkind, vindictive, deceitful, and actively sought to make my life difficult. Through years of rejection, I understood this as a challenge to grow beyond my current circumstances.
My present state was accepting average when I was meant for excellence. Rejection pushed me beyond my comfort zone. I was accustomed to working a job, relinquishing control over my schedule and waiting for a chance at advancement. No job offered the compensation I deserved. I possessed valuable skills that I overlooked. Once I accepted the rejection I overcame my fear and I was elevated into entrepreneurship. Yup, look at that! Their rejection lead to my elevation and it lead to freedom, decreased fear and flexibility to do more of what is my purpose.
Now, how will you look at your rejection? Where is your rejection going to elevate you?
