The everyday routine of life can cause us to expect God to show up in our busyness. We rush to do our tasks then, add God “real quick” in the middle of our hustle and bustle. The audacity.
We miss God’s voice. We miss what He wants to show us because we try to lead the way. We create these plans we put effort into seeing through. Anything less than completing those plans we categorize as a failure. What if God is saying, “let go of those plans”? With God it isn’t a risk, it’s faith. Have you ever taken a faith walk? Have you ever taken a leap, unable to see a resolution but believing in God’s outcome? What plans do you need to let go of today?
Maybe you don’t see yourself in what I shared above. So, let’s stretch the list a bit further with some areas listed below. Of course the list is not an exhaustive list, it is a starting point.
-
Overthinking
-
Seeking advice from unhealthy sources
-
Stale worship, it’s become routine instead of from a deeper place
-
Not trusting God with your heart
-
Social media overload
-
Staying stuck in the past
-
Expecting things to remain the same
I challenge you not to fit God in but ask God to show you what fits in His plans for you.
Be inspired,
Dr. K
