What is the story you tell yourself when you have lost all motivation? Does it work? Do you continue to procrastinate? I have to compartmentalize my feelings from any tasks I need to complete. My success rate using this method is high, to be honest, the rush of emotions afterwards can be a lot to handle.
I’ll admit I’m that friend who is strong, seems to get through any issue and appears “okay”. In my experience, the more you are seen as a leader, the go to, or voice of reason the more difficult locating support may seem. Come on, did you store any of that good advice I gave you? If so, please remind me of what I said and encourage me with that same energy! Anyway, now that I am off my soapbox, I will say, sometimes the motivation is just not there.
I am learning no one is responsible for my motivation but myself. Motivation doesn’t always look the same. Some days I just need to vent, no advice, just share how gangsta I want to be but can’t because I am branding myself. Others, I need to help another person to remember to not take life too seriously. Either way, I am building my tool box to include what I need to remain motivated at all times. When the motivation isn’t there for me I will press forward. How about you? Maybe it’s time to change the story you tell yourself when the motivation just isn’t there.
